Okay @Lightbulb, iD Mobile can’t / won’t transfer a number from one iD account to another iD account. 

You’ll need to switch the number you want to keep to another service provider, and then get a PAC from them to switch back to your new iD contract (with the 24-month minimum term).

It’s a faff, but the only way to transfer the number you want to keep to your ‘new’ iD plan.

Thanks I thought so it's just as carfone warehouse said they can do if I go on pay as you go with them 

The only non-iD Mobile PAYG plans you might get from Carphone Warehouse are for Vodafone, @Lightbulb.

No they ment to move my 30 day contract to a pay as you go on id mobile and then it can be done ? 

Okay @Lightbulb, odd that Carphone Warehouse (CPW) offered to do something that iD Mobile can’t / won’t do - i.e. switch a mobile number from one iD account to another iD account.

Perhaps CPW were happy to say anything to get a sale.

Unfortunately, as @andewhite has kindly advised, you can’t transfer your phone number from one iD Mobile contract to another I’m afraid, which is the same for most networks. To keep your number, you’d need to upgrade via your iD Mobile account, or complete a triangle port, where you transfer your phone number to another network on Pay As You Go, and then back to us on the new contract.

Many thanks for your time would I need to be on the other network for so long before I can port back to id ?

It’ll probably take 5-6 days to switch away, and then switch back, @Lightbulb.

You need to allow time for the PAC to be processed by the other network, and time to make sure switching to the other network was completed properly.

In addition, number switching can only take place on weekdays - not at weekends or on bank holidays.

Thanks I did move my number to Labara this morning so I will leave it there until next Tuesday thanks again 

You should be able to get a PAC from Lebara on Thursday evening or Friday morning, @Lightbulb. 

If you give that PAC to iD before 5pm on Friday (24th May), you switch should happen following Tuesday (28th May) - next Monday is a bank holiday.

Sorted thanks I got my PAC code today and submitted to id as well hope all goes well tomorrow on the final piece of the triangle 📐 thanks again
