Question

3 beeps and the line goes dead from a regular caller to my phone

My wife calls my number regularly but I now get 3 beeps and the line cuts off before I get a chance to speak to her. This also happens with a WhatsApp call. I can get calls from other people and answer without a problem. Why would one caller not be able to get through to me?

Hi @dampsquid99,

Thank you for your message.

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing and understand how frustrating that must be. If you’re able to receive calls from others without any problems, it may be due to a phone setting, a temporary network issue, or the number being accidentally blocked. Please try checking your blocked numbers list and restarting both phones, then try the call again. If the issue continues, please let us know and we’ll be happy to assist further.

Thanks,

Kwanele

I checked the blocked list on my phone and my wife’s number is not a blocked number. I got my wife to check her blocked numbers and my number is not blocked on her phone. We switched both phones off and on again. The problem is still occurring although she can call me on WhatsApp (contrary to my previous message).

Hi @dampsquid99,

Thanks for letting us know. Could you please confirm whether your wife is able to call other numbers?

As you’re able to make and receive calls from all numbers except hers, this suggests that the issue may not be on your side and could potentially be related to her line instead. Once we know this, we’ll be able to look into the next steps for you.

Regards,

Hi @dampsquid99. Thank you for the update.

Can you please confirm if this issue is location specific?

Does it only happen when she is away from you or are you experiencing these issues at home as well?
