5G not showing

Good afternoon,

 

My phone is only showing 4g even though I am in an area with 5g. I have reset my phone since changing over as described and I have the option of 5g on my phone selected.

 

Can you please help me.

Could you please provide us with your postcode so we can check whether 5G is available in your area with iD Mobile?

Hi,

 

It is KA9 2FG

 

I have checked and it looks like it should be available. On my last network we have no issues.

It seems to be most of the time only showing 4g not matter where I am

While 5G is available on the iD Mobile network, coverage is still more limited than 4G in many areas. Because of this, it's completely normal for your phone to spend most of its time connected to 4G, even when 5G is enabled.

 

In many cases, a strong 4G connection can actually provide a more stable experience than a weaker 5G signal, so your phone will often connect to whichever network offers the best overall service at the time.
