I am going to Switzerland today till Sunday and can see I can buy a 5 day data plan from you for £20. If I get that plan does it mean I can also make and receive calls as normal without charge? If that is not the case what options do I have to make and receive calls with my uk SIM card

When travelling I use a Roamic esim which is data only so I stick with WhatsApp tbh. Good prices and good connection.

Hi @Toppy2025

Thank you for getting in touch, and please accept our apologies for any confusion around roaming options.

The 5-day £20 add-on available for Switzerland is a data-only add-on, so unfortunately it does not include calls or minutes. This means you would be able to use mobile data as normal, but calls made or received and text messages would still be chargeable at our standard roaming rates.

If you need to make and receive calls while using your UK SIM card in Switzerland, you have the following options:

  • Use Wi-Fi calling (if your handset supports this), which allows you to make and receive calls over Wi-Fi without roaming charges
  • Use internet-based calling apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, or Teams while connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi

We recommend checking Wi-Fi calling is enabled before you travel if this is something you plan to use. Please make sure that you bill CAP is set to £0 to avoid out of plan charges as well.

We hope you have a great trip to Switzerland, and please let us know if you need any further help before you go.
