consistently poor 4G signal around Worthing

I have been with ID Moblie for 4 months. During this time in the area my signal strength has been 1 bar or no bars at all. According to the ID Mobile app I should have ‘excellent’ 4G coverage.

i have a new iPhone and tried with and without a cover. I have WiFi calling turned on - but don’t always have WiFi.
I do not consider this excellent as it often means the phone is quite often un-usable. Does anyone have any suggestions for a solution?

Hi @Wayland Axehammer ,

Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear about the poor signal you’ve been experiencing, that must be really frustrating, especially with your new phone. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that can sometimes improve coverage:

Restart your phone – This can help it reconnect to the best available cell tower.

Toggle Airplane Mode – Turn it on for 10 seconds, then off again to refresh the network connection.

Check for carrier updates – On an iPhone: Settings > General > About; if an update is available, you’ll see a prompt.

Try a different location in your area – Sometimes moving even a few meters can improve signal if there are obstacles or interference.

Use WiFi Calling when WiFi is available – this can help ensure calls and texts get through even with weak mobile signal.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried all of the suggestions over the last few months with no success. Some people have mentioned replacing the SIM card as a possible solution- I’m wondering if I should give this a go?

Hi @Wayland Axehammer.

Yes, replacing the SIM is a good next step if you’ve already tried all other troubleshooting. The quickest option is to visit your nearest Currys store, where they can provide you with a replacement SIM free of charge. Once activated, your service should be up and running within around 1 hour.

If you prefer delivery instead, we can post a replacement SIM to you, but please note this can take up to 2 working days to arrive.
