How comes you throttle the internet when tethering? I've just received your sim today and got the deal because it was a good offer for the amount of data but the internet speed is not even 2mb its unusable.

The internet speed on my handset is 70mb but the min i hotspot my laptop its no more then 2mb. So you throttle tethering it seems?

    Hi @rayjay17011 ,

    1.Check your hotspot connection settings

Make sure your phone hotspot is set to 2.4GHz or 5GHz (5GHz is usually faster but shorter range).

Turn hotspot off and back on again.

    2. Reduce the number of devices connected

Only connect one device at a time to test speeds.

If multiple devices are connected, it can slow the connection significantly.

    3. Test using a different device

Try connecting a different laptop or tablet to see if the issue still occurs.

    4. Restart both devices

Restart both your phone and laptop and test again.

    5.Update your phone software

Go to Settings → Software Update and make sure your phone is up to date.

Lets us know if these worked,

Thanks. Ive tried many things and the tethering never seems to get over 10-20 whilst the phone is 90mb-100mb. My phones set to 2.4 as default and no other devices are connected.

That’s interesting. I get the opposite results. My iPhone 17 Pro running iOS 26.3 Beta 2 shows the following:

My Lenovo X13 Gen 4 Thinkpad is connected to my iPhone 17 Pro and displays the following:

So iD Mobile are definitely not throttling people who tether their data allowance.
