Had ZERO data when visiting Oxford

My signal was showing 4G 2-3 bars all day, and according to iD mobile’s coverage map Oxford is fine for 4G and even 5G. Yet I visited there last week with my wife (also on iD mobile) and neither of us could access anything via the internet (data calls, Google maps, internet browsing, YouTube etc). We had no problems calling each other with normal calls.

This is a pretty big red flag. Any reason why this may be the case and anything we can do about it?

I am a relatively new iD Mobile customer, and I must say the service—particularly the mobile internet data—has been incredibly disappointing. While I understand that iD Mobile customers may have lower priority for data access on the Three network, we should at least have some data. Having no data at all is unacceptable.

I have experienced no data coverage in many areas of Swansea, central Cardiff, and all of Glasgow so far. I expect the list to grow and work report back.

Unfortunately, I feel I have no choice but to cancel my contract, even if it means paying a penalty. This level of service is simply unbelievable.

This is disappointing to hear @karolkalna

Our 4G network covers 99.8% of the UK outdoor population. This is based on analysis by Ookla® of Speedtest Intelligence® data for Q3-Q4 2024.

Is your handset set to 4G? Do you have VolTe enabled?

    Hi,

I had exactly the same problem since yesterday (today is 04th feb 2026 ). Texts and calls were alright. But no data. I had wifi then, so didn’t bother for a while. But today I decided to sort out the data problem.

As a part of trial and error, I put the network selection on manual mode and selected iDMobile. But no luck. Then I disabled low data mode and yes, that brought my data back. I was eventually successful.

I am on iPhone 6s plus running iOS 15.8.
