To help resolve this, you can try resetting your network settings, which often fixes speed and connectivity issues:
For iPhone:
Go to Settings โ Phone โ My Number
Delete the old number, enter the new number, and tap Save
Go to Settings โ Messages โ Turn off iMessage
Go to General โ Reset โ Reset Network Settings
Once your iPhone restarts, go to Settings โ Messages โ Turn on iMessage (this will verify your SIM)

Tap Reset โ Reset Network Settings
