Question

Just switched with PAC, cant receive texts

I just switched to iD Mobile from Three. I used a PAC code and my phone number switch date was Sep 30th. I have found that I am able to send text messages but am unable to receive them including the SMS one-time codes needed to set up the iD Mobile app. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S25FE running android version 16. I do not know if this is an issue on the networks end or if there are some phone settings I am unable to locate. In the messages app my phone number is set to the correct number. I have tried restarting my phone, switching various network settings and airplane mode on and off. My iD Mobile SIM is an eSIM.

    Hi @AdriS,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble receiving SMS messages after transferring your number, particularly as this is preventing you from receiving the verification code needed to access the iD Mobile app.

As the number transfer only completed on 30 September, it can sometimes take a little longer for all messaging services to fully update. However, as you can send texts but cannot receive them, please try the following:

    1. Go to Settings > General management > Reset.
    2. Select Reset mobile network settings.
    3. Restart your Samsung Galaxy S25 FE once the reset has completed.
    4. Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network operators.
    5. Turn Select automatically OFF.
    6. Allow the available networks to load and manually select iD Mobile/Three UK.
    7. Once connected, turn Select automatically back ON.
    8. Restart the phone again and test receiving a normal SMS.

As you’re using an eSIM, please also make sure the iD Mobile eSIM is switched on and selected as the preferred SIM for calls and SMS.

If you’re still unable to receive any SMS messages after completing these steps, please contact our Live Chat team. As the issue started following your number transfer, they may need to investigate whether there is a provisioning, SMS routing or split-port issue and raise this with our Technical Team if required.
