Network Coverage

Hoping to switch to ID but I'm not sure about the network coverage in my area at home and at work. I've done the network coverage checker online and its a little hit n miss. Home says I should get 4g but it seems I'm in a dead spot as there's a mix of colours. Same with work.

My question is should I start with a month sim only deal to check things out before I commit to 12 or 24 months? Don't want to be stuck on a network with poor coverage

Thank you for you replies 😊

Hi @Frosty87  Thank you for getting in touch and for considering joining iD Mobile!

You’re absolutely right, checking coverage before committing is a smart move. While our coverage checker gives a good general indication, signal quality can vary slightly depending on local factors like buildings or terrain.

Starting with a 1-month SIM Only plan is a great idea if you’d like to test the network in your area before signing up for a longer contract. This way, you can make sure the coverage meets your needs at both home and work.

If you’d like, you can reach out to our sales team - 0800 049 0250 they can help you get the best SIM Only option for testing our service.

Don’t rely on the online network coverage checker, because it only shows a theoretical prediction of the signal reception at any given location, @Frosty87.

The https://mastdata.com site shows actual coverage for many locations in the UK.

If your phone has WiFi calling capability, and is compatible with the iD WiFi calling network service, this could help at home.

If things don’t work out, you can take advantage of the cooling-off period of your 12 or 24 month minimum term contract.
