Network issues around llandudno area

Hi, I wanted to raise an issue regarding the poor mobile network coverage provided by iD Mobile around the Llandudno and Llandudno Junction areas.

Coverage is frequently very weak or unavailable, with unreliable mobile data and difficulty maintaining a consistent connection. This appears to affect multiple locations around both Llandudno and Llandudno Junction rather than being isolated to a single spot.

Could you please investigate the network coverage and capacity in this area and confirm whether there are any known issues or planned improvements?

Hi @dgus

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing poor coverage in the Llandudno and Llandudno Junction areas.

In the meantime, you can check the coverage in your area using the link below:

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/coverage

You may also find it helpful to try the following steps:

Reinsert your SIM card

Try your SIM in another phone

This will help determine whether the issue is related to your handset or the SIM card.

For iPhone (iOS) – Reset Network Settings:

Go to Settings → General.

Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.

Confirm the reset when prompted.

Once complete, return to the home screen and restart your iPhone.

For Samsung – Reset Network Settings:

From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps → Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Operators.

Turn Select Automatically on or off.

Alternatively:

Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings.

Confirm by tapping Reset Settings.

Thank you,

Doesn’t help;

prior to raising this i check networking settings, checked the network coverage and it says there’s connection, even get 1-4 network bars but no internet

removed the sim and connected it to a different phone, same issue

my partner who is also with ID mobile, has the same issue

Hi @dgus.

Thanks for the update. I’m really sorry you’re still having issues, especially when you’ve already tried all the right troubleshooting steps.

Since you and your partner are both experiencing the same problem, it could be worth trying a replacement SIM. You’ve got two quick options:

Pick up a free replacement SIM at your nearest Currys store, or

Contact us via Live Chat, and we can arrange for a replacement SIM to be sent to your home within two working days.

You can reach our Live Chat team here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat.

Hope this helps get things sorted for you both.

Thanks,

Marquerita

I don’t believe replacing the SIM is a reasonable next step here. The issue is affecting both myself and my partner in the same geographical area, across separate accounts/SIMs, which strongly suggests this is related to local network coverage or capacity rather than two SIM cards independently developing the same fault.

We’ve already completed the standard troubleshooting, and the problem is consistently occurring around Llandudno and Llandudno Junction.

Could this please be escalated to your network/technical team to investigate the local mast coverage, capacity or any ongoing faults in the area, rather than replacing the SIMs?

Hi @dgus.

Thanks for the clear details. I understand why replacing the SIMs doesn’t feel like the right next step given that both you and your partner are affected in the same area.

Please contact us directly via live chat at https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat so we can escalate this to our Network/Technical team to investigate the connectivity you are receiving.

To help with the investigation, could you also share your full postcode?

This will allow us to check coverage and any known issues in your exact location.

Thanks,

Marquerita
