No coverage but should be

The coverage in my area is largely non-existent. The coverage checker says otherwise, which is really frustrating. This has been going on a long time, so it is not related to a temporary work. There is nothing wrong with my phone as it works in other areas (for 4G and 5G).  Three used to have fairly good coverage in our area until about 5 yaers ago, but now it does not match the advertised coverage - not even close!

Having checked your query, we appreciate you’ve confirmed that your handset works correctly in other areas, which helps rule out a device fault. We would still recommend completing the following troubleshooting steps to ensure your phone is fully optimised on the network:

  • Restart your handset
  • Toggle Airplane Mode on for 60 seconds, then switch it off
  • Ensure network mode is set to 4G/5G Auto (or 4G only for testing)
  • Manually select the network:
    • Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Network Operators
    • Turn off automatic selection and wait for networks to appear
    • Select the available iD Mobile/Three network manually
    • Re-enable automatic selection afterwards
  • Reset network settings:
    • iPhone: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    • Android: Settings > System > Reset > Reset Mobile Network Settings
  • Ensure your handset software is fully up to date

If possible, we would also recommend testing your SIM in a different compatible handset to confirm whether the behaviour remains the same.
