no coverage on iphone 16 pro. will not take or receive calls - only works on wifi through whatsapp. what is going on!?

hi, i have recently taken out contract for iphone 16 pro and sim plan. the phone does not receive calls or call people even when on wifi. can only ring through whatsapp. i have used a esim. very fustratimg - not a good service provided!

    had ‘id mobile’ customer service people whatsapp and call me relating to the above. they asked questions about the service and concluded it could be issue with phone. They were going to start a complaints process and requested the phone be sent back to them but when i conforted them that this is a scam as they where unable to verify any details on my account they hung up. need to be careful on a public forum
