I have a new phone.

Phone calls and texts are fine.

But really struggling with Internet service.

Service check says no issues in area but I can't connect at all. I've done the resets etc

Frustrated to say the least.

Hi @GemGee1

You don’t say what phone make/model you have but here are some general things to try:-

To fix data not working while calls and texts work:-

If you recently switched providers using a PAC code, data can take up to 24 hours to fully activate even if calls work.

Quick Fixes:-
Toggle Airplane Mode: Turn it on for 30 seconds, then turn it off to force your phone to reconnect to the mast.
Check Mobile Data: Ensure mobile data is toggled on and your data allowance or roaming limit is not reached.
Reset Network Settings:
iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Android: Go to Settings > System > Reset options (or General Management > Reset) > Reset network settings.
Check APN Settings:
For Android, ensure your Access Point Name (APN) is set to id with the username and password left blank. (iPhones configure this automatically).
Remove Old Profiles: If you switched from another network like Sky or EE, delete any old carrier profiles or old inactive eSIMs leftover from your previous provider.

If you are still having problems then your best option is to contact an advisor via Live Chat to discuss this (The Live Chat team are available 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday) :-

When you contact the Live Chat :-

Type ‘talk to a person’ in the dialogue box and this will bypass the unhelpful chatbot.

Please be patient as the agents handle a few conversations at any one time so there will be a delay in connecting with an available agent and also any replies to your query.

You can also contact iD Mobile by sending a private message via their Socials (Facebook, X or Instagram)

iD Mobile social media accounts:-

or email socialqueries@idmobile.co.uk.

Good luck x

Hi @GemGee1

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your mobile data on your new phone.

As calls and texts are working, it sounds like you're successfully connected to the network, but there may be an issue with the mobile data settings on the device.

In the meantime, you can check the coverage in your area using the link below:

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/coverage

You may also find it helpful to try the following steps:

Reinsert your SIM card

Try your SIM in another phone

This will help determine whether the issue is related to your handset or the SIM card.

For iPhone (iOS) – Reset Network Settings:

Go to Settings → General.

Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.

Confirm the reset when prompted.

Once complete, return to the home screen and restart your iPhone.

For Samsung – Reset Network Settings:

From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps → Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Operators.

Turn Select Automatically on or off.

Alternatively:

Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings.

Confirm by tapping Reset Settings.

Thank you,

Zandile M
