Question

No signal and unable to call over WiFi Samsung S26

My cellular signal is terrible on iD mobile where I live although the coverage checker says its excellent. I never had this issue before on emobile.

I'm constantly being told on calls that I can't be heard.

VoLTE and 5G calling isn't working.  And I can't call over WiFi in my house. I've followed the trouble shooting.

If I try turning airplane mode on, WiFi calling works but this is not good enough as a permanent solution.

Samsung S26 FE is on the approved iD mobile list but I have the Samsubg S26.

This is really frustrating. If I'm not able to use these features, I wish I had been told at the time if signing up to a contract.

    Hi @NLAC,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues. I can understand how frustrating it must be when the coverage checker shows excellent coverage, but you're struggling with calls and can't reliably use features such as VoLTE, 5G Calling, or WiFi Calling.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Restart your Samsung S26.
    2. Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off.
    3. Check that your phone software is fully up to date.
    4. Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks and ensure:
      • VoLTE Calls is turned on.
      • Network Mode is set to 5G/LTE/3G/2G (Auto Connect).
    5. Reset your network settings:
      • Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    6. Remove and reinsert your SIM card if you're using a physical SIM.
    7. If possible, try your SIM in another compatible handset to see whether the issue follows the SIM or stays with the phone.
    8. Enable WiFi Calling and then restart the phone.
    9. Check that your home WiFi connection is stable and that WiFi Calling remains enabled after the restart.

As you've mentioned that WiFi Calling works when the phone is in Airplane Mode, this suggests the phone is capable of making WiFi calls, but may be prioritising the mobile network when signal is available, even if that signal is weak.

If you've already tried all of the above and the issue persists, we'd recommend contacting our Live Chat team so they can investigate further and see whether a replacement SIM may help.

    Hi Gemma

I have tried these steps and been in contact with the customer service team via live chat 5 times now.

The issue remains and the agents are not fixing the issue beyond doing the same trouble shooting again and again.

Perhaps you could send me a replacement SIM card to eliminate  that being a possibility?

I will log a formal complaint if this persists.

@blueberry77 thank you for the advice.

I have exactly the same problem

All ID mobile do is keep giving you time wasting troubleshooting steps which don't fix anything

The problem is that the signal is just very weak. As stated by hundreds of people in this community group

I have calls dropping off even in Birmingham City Center, where the signals supposed to be very strong

Please log a complaint and take it to the ombudsman

I am in the process of doing this as I want to get out of ID mobile contract and go back 3 network.

It will be great if iD mobile can fix the problem, but this will take years to fix
