Question

No signal/poor signal HELP!!!!!

I have only recently signed up to ID mobile, the switch over took place yesterday. I received a confirmation text from ID mobile that the switch over was complete. I am unable to make calls or send text messages when I’m not at home connected to the WiFi. What should I do? I know I have a 30 day cooling off period where I can cancel my ID mobile contract but I’m hoping they can test the signal and fix it somehow before I do this? I’m worried I’ve made a mistake choosing to go aim only 😩

    Hi @Sarah1612,

Thank you for getting in touch, and welcome to iD Mobile!

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re having trouble making calls and sending text messages since your number was transferred yesterday. I completely understand why this is worrying, especially as you’ve only just joined us and want to make sure you’ve made the right choice. Please don’t feel that you’ve made a mistake just yet, as there are a few troubleshooting steps we can try first.

As your switch has been confirmed as complete, please try the following:

    1. Restart your phone: Switch your phone off, wait around 30 seconds, and turn it back on to refresh its connection to our network.
    2. Toggle Airplane Mode: Turn Airplane Mode on for around 30 seconds, then switch it off and allow your phone to reconnect to the network.
    3. Check your network selection: Open your phone’s mobile network settings and make sure network selection is set to automatic.
    4. Check your mobile network mode: If your phone allows it, try selecting 4G/LTE as your preferred network mode, then test your calls and text messages again.
    5. Check your SIM or eSIM: Make sure your iD Mobile SIM is enabled and selected for calls and messages. If you’re using a physical SIM, remove it and reinsert it carefully before restarting your phone.
    6. Test in another location: If possible, try making a call and sending a text somewhere else away from your home. This can help establish whether the issue is related to local coverage or your connection to the network.

If these steps don’t help, please contact our Live Chat team at https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat. They can check your service and help investigate why you’re unable to make calls or send texts away from Wi-Fi, including whether there are any network or account-related issues that need attention.

We understand that reliable signal is important when choosing a mobile provider, and we’d encourage you to let the team investigate before making a final decision about your contract. If you’re considering cancelling, please contact us promptly so you understand your options.

Once again, I’m sorry for the frustration this has caused so soon after joining iD Mobile. We hope we can get you connected and enjoying your service as expected.
