Question

No voicemail connectivity

I have 2 outstanding voice mails to listen to BUT my voicemail number connects but rings once then goes to line busy! How do you remedy this. I'm removed the SIM, I've called other numbers and restarted my phone. This is very frustrating. What do you suggest?

    Hi @STUARTY,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble accessing your voicemail, especially when you have two messages waiting to be heard.

As you’ve already restarted the phone and removed/reinserted the SIM, please try the following:

    1. Open the iD Mobile app and go to Plan > Manage your iD services.
    2. Switch Voicemail OFF and save the change.
    3. Restart your phone.
    4. Go back into the app, switch Voicemail ON again and save.
    5. Restart the phone again and dial 123.
    6. You can also try pressing and holding 1 from the Phone keypad to access voicemail.

If you’re using a Samsung handset, please also check your call forwarding settings:

    1. Open the Phone app.
    2. Tap the three dots > Settings.
    3. Select Supplementary services > Call forwarding.
    4. Check the forwarding options for calls that are busy, unanswered or unreachable.
    5. Where calls are being forwarded to voicemail, the voicemail number should be +447782333123 rather than simply 123.

If your Samsung has a Direct Voicemail setting enabled, try switching this off temporarily as well, then restart the handset and test voicemail again.

If you’re still getting a busy tone after trying the above, please contact our Live Chat team so they can investigate the voicemail service on your account and raise a technical ticket if required.

It was a good suggestion but I thought you'd cracked it for me but after restarting the phone for the second time..I got 1 ring from the service then line busy text. It's a bit frustrating to say the least! How can it be busy when I'm the only recipient? I don't know.

    Hi @STUARTY,

I’m sorry to hear the issue is still continuing, especially after you’ve already completed the troubleshooting suggested.

At this stage, we’d recommend contacting our Live Chat team to arrange a replacement SIM, as this will help rule out the SIM itself as the cause of the issue.

If the issue continues after testing the replacement SIM, please contact the team again so they can complete any remaining troubleshooting and raise a technical ticket for further investigation.

    Regards,

Thanks. I'll do that..it continues to be a problem. I've emailed the manufacturer of the handset. It became a problem after an OS update.. possibly Android or own brand update. I'm not sure which.

    Hi @STUARTY,

    Thanks for the update.

As the issue started following a software update, contacting the handset manufacturer is a good next step so they can investigate whether the update has affected the device.

Hopefully they’ll be able to get this resolved for you. If you need any further assistance from our side, please let us know.

    Regards,
