not able to call numbers with a switchboard

I do not seem to be able to call numbers which may have a switchboard?

Hi ​@Madkay,

 

We're sorry to hear you're having trouble making calls.

 

Can we just check whether this is happening with all numbers you try to call, or only with specific numbers that use a switchboard or automated menu system?

 

In the meantime, we'd recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart your phone.
  • Turn Airplane Mode on for around 30 seconds, then switch it back off.
  • Check that your software is fully up to date.
  • Ensure your network selection is set to Automatic.
  • Reset your network settings.
  • If possible, try your SIM in another handset to see if the issue follows the SIM or stays with the device.

 

It's also worth checking your bill cap, as some business, service and switchboard numbers can be classed as out-of-plan calls and may require a bill cap above £0.00 to connect.

 

Once you've let us know whether it's all numbers or only specific ones, we'll be happy to advise further.

Kindly try to increase your bill cap to see if you will be able to make calls.

 

Here is the quick step-by-step breakdown:
Open the app and log in to your account.
Tap on the Bills tab (or My Account > My Services depending on your app version.
Select Manage bill cap.
Drag the slider or manually type the new amount in the £ field.
Tap Save or Confirm to instantly update your limit.
