Question

Not connecting to internet out of house

Simply cannot connect to the internet when out of range of the domestic router. Have checked and rechecked my settings and have had it confirmed by a 6 year old that they are correct. The coverage in the area is good so what's happening please? Are the 5G towers having issues in north west Cardiff?

Hi @DaveGman666

Thank you for getting in touch with us.  We understand your frustration with not being able to connect to the internet while out of range of your domestic router. Please note that our SIM cards are designed for mobile phones and devices that support standard mobile data they do not support use in certain routers or mobile hotspots, which may be why you are experiencing connectivity issues. If you are trying to use the SIM in a router, we recommend using it in a compatible phone or device instead.

No, I don't put my sim in the router. That would be silly. It worked a few months ago fine, now my phone is as useful as a chocolate teapot. My settings haven't changed so I must assume the issue is with the signal

Hi @DaveGman666

Thank you for getting back to us, and we’re sorry to hear that your phone is not working as expected.

You can also check the coverage in your area using the following link:

Additionally, you may want to try the following steps:
Reinsert your SIM or try it in another phone. This will help determine whether the issue is with the handset or the SIM card.

For iPhone (iOS) – Reset Network Settings:
Go to Settings → General.
Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
Confirm the reset when prompted.
Once complete, return to the home screen and restart your iPhone.

For Samsung – Reset Network Settings:
From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps → Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Operators.
Turn Select Automatically on or off.
Alternatively:
Go to Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
Confirm by tapping Reset Settings.

Thank y,

Zandile

Yeah, so I had to go to PCCurrys World and hang about for long with sciatica. Not good. Your fellow there, Rowan, an absolute gentleman, ended up giving me a new sim. It's seems to be working now thank you

Hi @DaveGman666

Thank you for the update. We’re sorry to hear that you had to wait while dealing with sciatica that certainly doesn’t sound like a comfortable experience.

We’re really glad to hear that Rowan was able to help and that the new SIM is now working for you. If you need any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Incredibly it still doesn't work all the time out of range of the domestic router
