Solved

not receiving verification texts

Since porting my number to iD Mobile, I cannot receive any automated 2FA or verification texts. Regular SMS, RCS, and iMessage are working fine. I’m on an iPhone 17 running the latest iOS and have tried all standard device troubleshooting. The issue was escalated to your team but remains unresolved—could someone please check for a shortcode provisioning or SMS routing issue on my line?

For reference this is iD mobile technical team statement:

“Thanks, technical team checked all the issue please see their response: We've investigated the issue with the OTP message you reported, and our findings indicate that it was blocked because it was sent through a
route that avoids essential fraud and charging controls. It's likely that the organization that issued the OTP is unaware of this issue, as
it's related to their messaging partner's routing.

We recommend that you share our investigation results with the organization that issued the OTP, so they can work with their messaging partners to resolve the issue. Please note that this incorrect routing may
be temporary and subject to change, so future attempts may be successful. However, if the issue persists, we suggest escalating it with the
originating organization to prevent further disruptions.”

    Hi @George Tasev,

Please make sure that the number is correct under settings.

    For iPhone:
    - Go to Settings > Phone > My Number.
    - Check that your correct iD Mobile number is displayed.
    - If it's incorrect, change it to the number you wish to keep. It may not update or save immediately.
    - If the number still doesn't change, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Enter your passcode if prompted and confirm the reset.

Please note that resetting network settings will remove saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords and reset other network-related settings.

If your number is showing incorrectly in your messaging settings:
    - Open the Messages app.
    - Tap More (⋮).
    - Select Settings.
    - Tap Advanced.
    - Select Phone Number, if available.
    - Enter the correct number associated with your SIM and save the changes.

If the number is still incorrect:
    - Remove the SIM from your handset.
    - Restart the device.
    - Reinsert the SIM.
    - Check the number again in your phone settings.

If possible, you can also test the SIM in another compatible handset. Send a test SMS and check whether it displays your correct number or a temporary number. This can help establish whether the issue is related to the SIM or your handset.

    Hi @George Tasev,

Thank you for confirming and I am so sorry to hear of that.

Please could you confirm if it is only OTP’s from Cahoot that you’re unable to receive or are there others too. If it is only Cahoot, please get in touch with them directly to enquire.

    Regards,

Hi, yes, they advised me to contact you. I haven't tried any other similar bank or service. Ebay had issues but its been resolved. They checked and everything is fine on their side.

    Hi @George Tasev,

Thanks for sharing the Technical Team's findings and the update with the Community.

Based on their investigation, the next step would be to follow the Technical Team's advice and contact the organisation that sends the OTP codes.

You can share the findings with them and ask them to raise the issue with their messaging provider, as the routing being used to send the verification messages will need to be corrected from their side.

Hopefully they're able to get this resolved for you quickly.

    Regards,
