Personal Hotspot

Thank you for getting in touch. I’m sorry you’re having trouble enabling Personal Hotspot on your iPhone. I understand how frustrating it can be when the option is missing from Settings or appears greyed out in Control Centre.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Mobile Data: Go to Settings > Mobile Service (or Cellular) and make sure Mobile Data is switched on.
2. Check Personal Hotspot settings: Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot and, if the option is available, switch on Allow Others to Join.
3. Restart your iPhone: Turn your phone off and back on, then check whether Personal Hotspot is available.
4. Check for a carrier settings update: Go to Settings > General > About and wait a few seconds. If an update prompt appears, follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Update iOS: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available update.
6. Reset Network Settings: If the issue continues, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Please note that this will remove saved Wi-Fi passwords and reset your network settings, so you’ll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi afterwards.
7. Check your mobile data connection: Make sure you can access the internet using mobile data with Wi-Fi switched off.
