phone only connects on wifi

iPhone 15 switched over on Tuesday I get no 5g when not connected to the internet. I only get texts or calls when connected to WiFi.

 

can you advise

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble since switching over, that’s definitely not the experience we want for you.

 

From what you’ve described, it sounds like your phone isn’t properly connecting to the mobile network yet. This can sometimes happen shortly after a switch, but there are a few things you can try to get it sorted:

 

Reset your network settings (recommended)

This refreshes your connection to the network:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap General
  • Select Transfer or Reset iPhone
  • Tap Reset
  • Choose Reset Network Settings

(Just a heads-up: this will remove saved WiFi passwords, so you’ll need to reconnect to WiFi afterwards.)

 

Check your mobile settings:

  • Go to Settings > Mobile Data
  • Make sure Mobile Data is turned on
  • Tap Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data
  • Ensure 5G Auto or 5G On is selected

 

Toggle Airplane Mode:

  • Turn Airplane Mode ON for about 30 seconds, then turn it OFF again
  • This can help your phone reconnect to the nearest mast.

 

Restart your phone:

  • A simple restart can often fix connection issues after a SIM switch.

 

Check carrier settings update:

  • Go to Settings > General > About
  • If prompted, install any available carrier settings update

 

If you’re still only getting service over WiFi after trying the above, it may be worth checking that your number transfer has fully completed or that there are no local network issues affecting you.
