Question

Poor coverage since 23rd September

This is clearly more an issue with the Three network that ID uses, but since Wednesday 23rd September the signal in my house has been almost nil. I have been with ID for 3.5 years with very few issues, but I don’t have home broadband and rely on my mobile for all internet. It is now the fourth day with no information at all on why things have changed, and whether there are plans to fix it. If I walk 5 minutes down my road I can get 250Mbps on speedtest; here, more like 5Mbps, if I get a signal at all. Something changed on Wednesday, and I think we all deserve answers, or I will be forced to switch network.

    Hi @Psyklax.

Thank you for sharing and for being with us for 3.5 years. I'm sorry to hear your signal at home has dropped since Wednesday 23rd September, especially as you rely on your mobile for all your internet.

There are a few things we'd like you to try:

Check our coverage checker for your postcode, which shows expected coverage and any known issues in your area: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/coverage.

Remove and reinsert your SIM card, then restart your phone.

Try your SIM in another phone, if you can. This helps us confirm whether the issue is with the handset or the SIM.

    Thanks,

    Marquerita

Thankfully the issue appears to have been fixed as of this afternoon (Monday 28th), but I am nevertheless disappointed with the lack of transparency. Five full days of downtime with no information whatsoever is very concerning, and of course it doesn’t help that iD Mobile doesn’t have a helpline staffed by human beings - unlike Three, whom I did speak to only to be told that as I’m not a Three subscriber, they couldn’t help me either.
