Question

poor network

I’ve just swapped to ID mobile on my sisters recommendation but find it’s almost impossible to connect to 5G or 4G I can only use WiFi that I login to at my house or friends. My sister has sat next to me using it with no issues on her phone with ID mobile. I’ve tried going from airplane mode to not, toggling wifi on/off, switching the phone on/off etc hasn’t helped

    Hi @Zellasmum.

I’m really sorry to hear you’re experiencing this. I can understand how frustrating it must be, especially when someone with you on the same network is having no issues.

To help refresh the connection on your device, please try completing a network reset using the steps below for your phone type:

    For iPhone:

    Go to Settings
    Tap Phone
    Tap My Number
Delete the old number and re-enter it
    Tap Save
    Go back to Settings
Tap Messages and turn iMessage OFF
    Go to General
Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset
    Select Reset Network Settings
Once completed, go back to Settings → Messages and turn iMessage ON again

This will help the phone re-register the SIM properly.

    For Android:

    Open Settings
    Tap General management
    Tap Reset
    Select Reset network settings

Once done, restart your phone and check if 4G/5G connects.

If the issue still continues after this, please let us know and we can look into it further for you

    Thanks,

    Marquerita

    Seems the latest samsung update.

As of early May 2026, reports indicate that the April 2026 security updates for the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S25 series are causing significant performance issues, including severe battery drain and, in some cases, connectivity problems.Key Issues IdentifiedMajor Battery Drain: Many users report their devices dying within a few hours following the April update, with some users noticing 1%-2% battery loss in minutes, even with light usage.Overheating: Reports of phones becoming hot during normal usage (like Instagram/YouTube) and when charging.Connectivity Issues (4G/5G): Users have reported instances where the phone shows full 5G/4G signal, but data does not work, resulting in no internet, calls, or texts.Potential Causes: The issues are speculated to be related to Samsung's Knox Matrix platform updates or issues with Meta applications.Affected Devices: S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.

Got the issues with switching from 5g to 4g speed issues also no Internet from using mobile data both issues on the samsung s24 and s25+ and no rush in samsung to rectify the issue.

    Hi @Zellasmum

I’m really sorry this is still happening. I can completely understand how frustrating it is, especially when someone next to you on the same network has no issues.

Since the network reset hasn’t helped, let’s try a few deeper checks:

Check Settings > Mobile Network and make sure 4G/5G is enabled (not “3G only” or “auto but restricted”)
Turn Data Roaming ON (this can sometimes help with network registration)
Go to Network Selection and manually select iD Mobile / O2, then restart
Remove the SIM and reinsert it (if physical SIM)
Check if your phone has a carrier settings update available
Test switching 5G off temporarily and see if 4G improves

If it still continues after this, we’ll need to raise this to our technical team to check the SIM provisioning and local network connection for your line specifically.
