Question

quick text now puts irish dialling code in not uk!

I went to Ireland about 6 months ago - since then when I use ‘respond with text’ it automatically inputs an Irish dialling code in front of it!
I have tried changing my country and changing it back, I have reset my phone but still happens which makes me think it’s sim related!
any ideas how to fix?

    Hi @Qthefrex

I can see why it’s confusing, especially when it keeps inserting an Irish (+353) code after you’ve already tried resets.

This is almost always caused by the number being stored or cached in international format on the phone (not the SIM itself), especially after travelling.

    Try these quick fixes:
    Check your contact details
    Open your own contact card
Make sure your number is saved in UK format (+44), not +353
Delete and re-save it if needed
    Check “My Number” on iPhone
Settings → Phone → My Number
Manually set it to your correct UK number
    Delete and re-add your contact
    Remove the contact completely
Recreate it fresh using UK format only

    Network refresh
Toggle Airplane mode ON/OFF Or restart the phone after changes
    Last step if still happening
Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset Network Settings

This is very unlikely to be a SIM fault,  it’s usually a saved number formatting or iOS region cache issue after roaming.

    Thank you Lamiya

As it turns outs it was the Sim - deleted the old e-sim and got a new one - now all working great
