RCS on iPhone 2025

Hi,

Are there any further updates regarding RCS on iD Mobile?

Since this was rolled out in 2024 EE, 3, O2, Giffgaff, TescoMobile (plus unknown others) have all activated it for their customers.

We’re trying to set up an Android/iOS messaging group and the iD Mobile member is the one making this impossible to achieve. She’s now looking at other networks that will offer this for her iPhone when upgrading later this year.

Thanks

Hey here @S4tlum, we do not have an update on this I’m afraid, and can only advise it’s something we don’t currently offer.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

    Hi @kieo and @Mace242,

I am so sorry for any inconvenience that this may be causing you, however I can assure you that this is something that is still being looked into and worked on.

On, come on! This has been an issue for over two years. It’s down to iD. It works on Smarty (also a 3 MVNO but lighter integration). You could put in the effort with Apple and Three to get it to work but you simply don’t care enough and will not put money towards it.

Is there any updates on this yet? Any estimated times for apple RCS messages i  had no idea ID didn't support it

It simply won’t happen. iD could do it now but won’t invest the money. Other 3 based virtual providers support it.

    Hi @Kennettbec,

    Thanks for checking in.

At the moment, it's still something that's being looked into. Unfortunately, we don't have a timeframe for when Apple RCS messaging will be available on iD Mobile.

We appreciate your patience, and we'll be sure to share any updates as soon as we have more information.

    Regards,

    Hey @Mace242, @Kennettbec, @Mace242,

Unfortunately, we don’t have any update on RCS on iD Mobile, but we’re working with 3UK on this. To my knowledge, Smarty are the only 3UK MVNO who support RCS, but I suspect this is because they’re owned by 3UK themselves, so get preferential treatment! 😅

@Kennettbec, the fact you’re in an Apple household means you’ll likely use iMessage (Blue Bubbles) which is encrypted and fully supported by iD Mobile. RCS is for sending encrypted messages to Android, or iPhone users without iMessage enabled.

If there any updates, we will be sure to announce on the Community.

    Thanks!

It’s been years since it was enabled on Android. You just need to pay for it. That is the simple answer.
