my samsung phone is not working outside of wifi. my friends ring me but my calls go to answer machine or if i receive a call they cannot hear me until i go outside of the house. I have 2 phones and same sims although 1 is an iPhone while this one is a samsung. Both have worked fine for 3 years with no issue. Ive had a new esim and now a new sim card which i installed yesterday. Seem to be having same issue. I have gone through all the phone updates/settings as recommended by AI but i still have the same issue.

I put the sim card into the iphone and 4g works fine but the iphone sim card in the samsung does not pick up 4g.

is my smasung phone faulty or does it need a setting review to work.

    Hi @Bubs,

Sorry to hear you're still having issues, especially after trying a replacement eSIM, a replacement physical SIM, and the recommended troubleshooting.

Based on what you've described, the fact that:

    • Your iD Mobile SIM works correctly in the iPhone.
    • The iPhone SIM also has issues when placed in the Samsung.
    • You've already reset the network settings.
    • The phone software is up to date.
    • You've tested multiple SIMs with the same result.

would suggest that the issue is likely related to the Samsung handset itself, rather than your iD Mobile service or SIM card.

Before coming to a final conclusion, there are a few more things you could try:

    • Check that Mobile Data is enabled.
    • Ensure the Preferred Network Mode is set to 5G/4G/3G/2G (Auto Connect).
    • Turn Wi-Fi Calling off temporarily and test calls again.
    • Start the phone in Safe Mode to rule out a third-party app causing interference.
    • Check whether any Data Saver or Battery Saver settings are restricting mobile data.
    • Reset all settings on the phone if your device offers this option.
    • If available, manually select the network rather than leaving it on automatic.

You could also compare the APN settings on the Samsung against the iPhone to ensure they're configured correctly.

As you've already completed extensive troubleshooting and the issue appears to follow the Samsung regardless of which SIM is inserted, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Service Team via Live Chat if the problem continues: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

Let them know that you've tested multiple SIMs and that the same SIM works correctly in an iPhone but not in the Samsung. This will help them determine the next steps and whether further investigation is required.

I hope you're able to get this resolved soon.

    Regards,
