    Hi @Boghender

We're very sorry to hear that you're suddenly experiencing very slow internet on your phone. We completely understand how frustrating this must be, particularly if the service was working normally before.

Before considering switching providers, we'd recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Restart your handset – Switch your phone off completely, leave it off for around 30 seconds, then switch it back on and allow a few minutes for it to reconnect to the network.
    • Refresh your connection – Turn Airplane Mode on for around 30 seconds, then switch it off and wait for the network connection to restore.
    • Switch to 4G only – 4G can provide a more stable connection than 5G in some locations.
      • iPhone: Settings > Mobile Service/Mobile Data > Voice & Data > 4G/LTE.
      • Android: Settings > Connections/Network & Internet > Mobile Networks > Network Mode/Preferred Network Type > 4G/LTE.
    • Check your mobile data settings – Make sure Mobile Data is switched on and, if you use two SIMs, that your iD Mobile SIM is selected for mobile data.
    • Check your network selection – Make sure Automatic Network Selection is enabled. If necessary, temporarily switch it off while stationary, allow the available networks to appear, select iD Mobile/Three if shown, then switch automatic selection back on.
    • Check for software updates – Make sure your handset is running the latest available software.
    • Check your data usage – If you've used your monthly allowance, additional data may be chargeable depending on your plan and Bill Cap. You can check your remaining allowance through the iD Mobile app or My Account.
    • Test in another location – Try using mobile data somewhere nearby, both indoors and outdoors, to see whether the issue is specific to one location.
    • If you're using a physical SIM, switch your handset off, remove and reinsert the SIM securely, then restart the device.
    • If possible, test the SIM in another compatible unlocked handset. This can help establish whether the issue is related to the handset or the SIM/network.

Once you've completed these steps, please test your mobile data again.

If the connection is still unusually slow, please contact us via Live Chat. Our team can complete the necessary security checks, check the coverage and network status for your area, review your account and investigate the issue further.

We'd really like the opportunity to get this resolved for you before you make a decision about changing provider, and we're sorry again for the inconvenience you've experienced.
