    Hi @Roberta B,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble sending SMS messages and that your iPhone 17 Pro battery has also started draining unusually quickly.

For the SMS issue, as you have unlimited texts and you’re sending standard text-only messages, please try the following:

    1. Restart your iPhone.
    2. Go to Settings > Apps > Messages and make sure Send as Text Message is enabled.
    3. Go to Settings > Apps > Phone > My Number and check that your correct iD Mobile number is displayed.
    4. Turn Airplane Mode on for around 60 seconds, then turn it back off.
    5. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    6. Once the phone restarts, try sending another standard SMS.

Please note that resetting the network settings may remove saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth connections.

For the battery issue, please go to Settings > Battery and check which apps or services are using the most battery. We'd also recommend making sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS.

You can also check Settings > Battery > Battery Health to review the condition of the battery.

As the handset is only around 11.5 months old, if the battery continues to drain excessively after checking the above, we'd recommend contacting Apple Support so they can run diagnostics on the handset and advise whether it requires inspection or repair.

If the SMS issue continues after completing the troubleshooting, please contact our Live Chat team so they can investigate the messaging service on your account: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat
