Straight to voicemail without ringing

I have recently moved to ID mobile from Vodafone. Since then, if I am scrolling on my phone and someone tries to ring me, it comes up with a missed call and the caller hears it go straight to answerphone. All of the fixes of lengthening ringing time are irrelevant as it rings fine when I’m not on it.

I’ve missed some really important calls that I can’t call back like the hospital. The phone is in my hand! Full WiFi and signal. I now have to have my phone on the table if waiting for a call. This has never happened with Vodafone and started straight on switching.

This also happens to my husband. When I ring him it often goes to voicemail too so I know to just ring back. We will have to switch as it’s a deal breaker, what happens with the contract though?

Just to say I have also checked all the call settings and voicemail settings and have reset network settings. I’m on iPhone 15 pro and same phone as when with Vodafone. Husband also with ID Mobile and finding the same. Happens when I ring my kids with ID Mobile, especially my daughter who is always scrolling so seems to be an ID issue

Hi @Beebee4,

Thank you for your message.

We’re truly sorry to hear about the calling issues you and your husband are experiencing as we understand how frustrating and concerning that must be. This is certainly not the experience we want for you. To help investigate, please check that your number is correctly saved on your iPhone by following the steps below. Also ensure that Do Not Disturb/Focus modes and Call Forwarding are disabled under your phone settings:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap Phone
3. Tap My Number
4. Use the delete button to remove the old number
5. Use the keypad to enter the new number
6. Tap Save
7. Restart the iPhone

Thanks,

Kwanele

Yes I’ve done all of that before I posted. Correct number, focus is only on at work and overnight on a timer so never in the day when I’m scrolling. It only happens if I’m on my phone at the time. It’s as if the network can’t cope with using data and receiving a phonecall at the same time. I can see there are other posters mentioning this too.
