Question

Unable to make phone calls - no ringing or dialling tone

I have joined this network since March 2026, and I have been unable to make or receive phone calls during that time. I have been using this sim mainly for data as a result, but want to use it as a back up number. I have recently lost my mobile and receive calls on this as a back up. I have read many threads on this forum complaining of the same issue, and most of them are never resolved. I have been following some steps recommended (I am using a Pixel 2 XL) and not getting any result. I can’t even get to speak to someone.

iD mobile need to look at their network and customer service as a whole because it is truly shocking. How can a mobile network provider be unable to offer the basics? Really thinking of cancelling this contract (luckily it’s a rolling contract and only paying £9 a month for it).

    Hi @Phil_Y,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, and I can completely understand your frustration if you've been unable to make or receive calls since joining in March 2026.

Given that you've already followed troubleshooting steps and can use data, but calls aren't working, we'd recommend checking the following:

    • Make sure VoLTE/4G Calling is enabled (if supported by your handset).
    • Ensure the phone is set to Automatically Select Network.
    • Restart the device and test again.
    • Reset your network settings.
    • If possible, test the SIM in another handset to see if the issue persists.

However, considering how long you've been experiencing the problem, this really needs to be investigated on the account.

We'd recommend contacting our Customer Service Team via Live Chat and asking for a technical investigation to be raised if one hasn't been already: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

We appreciate your feedback regarding both the network and support experience, and we're sorry that this has affected your confidence in the service. A mobile service should be able to provide the basics, and I completely understand why you're considering your options if the issue remains unresolved.

    Regards,
