I have set up 4G LTE/5G CPE router on my laptop, but it is very slow when loading webpages. I have an ID MOBILE SIM card inserted in it. I have positioned the router near a window and away from metal objects, but the speed is slow. Can anybody help at all?

    Hi @Marcello,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

If you're using an iD Mobile SIM in a 4G LTE/5G router and webpages are loading slowly, there are a few things worth checking:

    • Restart the router and allow it a few minutes to reconnect to the network.
    • Try moving the router to different locations around the property, particularly near windows facing different directions.
    • Check whether the router is connected to 4G or 5G and review the signal strength in the router settings.
    • If your router allows it, try manually selecting 4G only or 5G only to see if performance improves.
    • Test the SIM in a mobile phone (if possible) to compare speeds and determine whether the issue is with the network connection or the router itself.
    • Ensure the router firmware is fully up to date.
    • Run a speed test at different times of day, as network congestion can affect performance during peak periods.

If the SIM performs well in a phone but remains slow in the router, the issue may be related to the router configuration or hardware rather than the mobile network.

If you're still experiencing issues after trying the above, we'd recommend contacting our Live Chat team so they can check for any known network issues in your area: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat or you are able to check it yourself: Mobile Coverage | iD Mobile Network
