Let’s start a discussion regarding the merging of Vodafone and Three As I think it would be beneficial to keep people up-to-date on this

I assume ID Mobile will continue to operate after the merger has completed, Because as per the merger rules Set by Ofcom they were not allowed to change the prices that virtual mobile operated pay to Harness the network

There’s no guarantee ID mobile will choose to use the combined VodafoneThree network.

They may choose to switch to O2, or EE.

What’s not clear is what happens if they stick with Three.  VodafoneThree have details on their website of their offering for MVNOs such as ID, which requires them accepting new terms (if you search for the term “VodafoneThree Wholesale Reference Offer” it will bring up the VodafoneThree FAQs for MVNOs).  Should ID choose not to accept these terms, our signal may stay on Legacy Three’s towers only.

Network sharing between Vodafone and Three is set to take up to 6 months from now so there’s plenty of time to sort all this out.

I'm now seeing Vodafone UK appearing at the side of my ID network so is this already happening?

Hi there @Sevs, the merger between Three UK and Vodaphone was completed on May 31st 2025. Therefore, you may start to see yourself being connected to Vodafone/Three at different times over the upcoming months/years as this begins to change and improve.

Thanks,

Tyler

@Tyler C thanks, I thought as much but with some people saying it wouldn’t happen for ID due to ongoing contractual discussions I was wondering why my phone was showing connection to Vodafone UK

Hi @Sevs

I’m unsure why people would be saying that, there’s nothing at this time to suggest connection to Vodafone masts wouldn’t include our customers too.

Be interested to see if this helps with the signal here in TR4 as it’s pretty much non-existent at the moment. I doubt it.

Hi 👋

I'm aware the whole VodafoneThree process of activating MOCN across the network might take until 2033, but wondered whether there's any clue as to when VodafoneThree will be available in my area? My location is at the top of a hill with only ~1 bar of signal for iD Mobile indoors. Fortunately, VoWiFi works fine at home (occasionally needing airplane mode turned on to force VoWiFi to activate). I force VoWiFi on if I've an important call to make.

My full postcode is ST4 5ED and my phone is a Google Pixel 6 (android 16).

Operator settings version - idmobile_gb-72000000425.70 2025-06-05

I've only ever seen the iD logo at the top of my screen, never Vodafone, as @Sevs has observed. Going into my SIM's settings, I see "iD connected" but "Vodafone UK (forbidden)"

Cheers 👍
