Why does ID mobile not send a missed call text message in the correct format?

When in bad service/signal, ID Mobile sends us text to say someone has rang.

They send the number in the text as

447971XXXXXX

So when u press it to dial the number, it won't ring.

You then have to edit the number or find the contact.

For 30 years now, to dial a mobile it's

07971 etc.

Or +447971 etc.

A 6 year old child knows this.

Why can't ID Mobile get this right?

It really is easy to solve some of these basic issues, as you are very good ID Mobile at a lot of other things. Please change this to how it should be. It's basic network communications normality

Hi @MickRoberts

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We completely understand why this would be frustrating.

You’re right that the number format in missed call notifications should ideally be clickable and dial correctly without needing to edit it. The format you’re seeing (starting 447…) is the international version of the number, but without the “+” prefix it can cause exactly the issue you’ve described on some devices.

This type of notification format is typically generated at a network level, which means it’s not always something that can be adjusted on individual devices but that said, your feedback is absolutely valid. It’s a basic usability point and we agree it should work more seamlessly.

We’ll make sure this is passed on to the relevant team for review, as improving small but important details like this can make a big difference to the overall experience.

In the meantime, some devices allow you to automatically recognise and correct number formats, so it may be worth checking your phone’s dial or messaging settings to see if there’s an option to handle international numbers more smoothly.

Thanks again for taking the time to highlight this, we truly appreciate it.
