Hi @anTro1.

I’m really sorry to hear about the frustration this is causing. I understand how annoying this must be.

Based on what you’ve described, especially as you’re able to call other numbers without any issues and the other person can call you, this would usually point to a possible setting or restriction on the recipient’s device or network, rather than an issue with your line.

I’d suggest asking the other person to check their phone settings.

Hi @anTro1,

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this.

There are a few possible reasons why this might be happening:

  • The number could be classed as a non-standard number (even if it looks like a normal contact), which may require your bill cap to be increased for calls to connect.
  • The number may be saved incorrectly (missing a digit or country/area code formatting issue).
  • There could be a block on either your device or the other person’s network.
  • Temporary network routing issues between networks.

Things you can try:

  • Double-check the number and try dialling it manually (not from contacts).
  • Make sure the number is saved in full international format if needed (e.g. +44 for UK numbers).
  • Check your phone’s blocked numbers list (just in case it’s been blocked accidentally).
  • Restart your phone and try again.
  • Try calling from a different phone if possible, just to rule out the number itself.

Bill cap note:

If the number is being treated as a non-standard service, your out of plan settings or bill cap may be restricting the call. You may need to increase it temporarily for the call to go through.

You can find more information about out of plan charges here: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-support/billing/out-of-plan-charges

I’ve tried all that except calling from another phone. Not internationally or premium number either. It’s the correct number just doesn’t ring my end (volume is switched high) been like this since I went to ID Mobile & can’t wait for my contract to end tbh awful service. Seems like I’m going round in circles !!!!!
