why is my call quality terrible when others call me but not when i call them back.

So when I make calls they’re great quality but any calls I receive sound terrible and hard to understand. This becomes hard when it’s someone like the doctor calling.

    Please confirm the make and model of your device for and when did this issue start? It also helps to reset network settings.

    hi, so it’s a iPhone 15 pro. And the problems have been for 2 years I just did not receive calls often and only just realised it’s on my end that’s the issue

    Are you hearing a crackling sound whenever you receive a call? If so, the issue might be with the earpiece at the top of your phone, it could be faulty or damaged.

    I can send calls and hear perfectly it’s just when I receive them. Even on Bluetooth this happens

    Have you tried a replacement iD SIM for your iPhone 15, ​@Csab? 

    A faulty or damaged SIM can result in mysterious issues with mobile network services.

    For some reason I brought my iPhone 17 pro max and the top earpiece speaker makes a rattling sound

    I'm sorry to hear that your new iPhone 17 Pro Max appears to have an issue with the earpiece speaker.

     

    If you're hearing a rattling or buzzing sound from the top speaker during calls, media playback, or at higher volumes, we'd recommend having the device inspected.

     

    As the handset was purchased recently, you can:

    • Visit your nearest Currys store if the phone was purchased through Currys.
    • Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for a diagnostic check.

     

    They'll be able to assess whether the noise is being caused by a hardware fault and advise on the available repair or replacement options.
