One of my SIM cards is currently with smarty, I assume (both on three) I should expect to get the same sort of signal and speed coming over to id mobile?

As both iD Mobile and SMARTY use the Three UK network, you should generally expect similar coverage. However, your experience can vary depending on factors such as network traffic, your device, and your location.
