Adding a Sim Pin

I recently transferred my phone and my wifes to ID from a different provider.

On neither phone did we get around to setting up a Sim pin.

Today I tried to do this with no success.

In our phone settings, when I tried to turn on the Sim pin facility I was asked to enter the current pin.

I tried the same default as was used by the prvious provider (9999) with no success, then was informed that the ID default is 1111. I tried this with no success so now only have one try left before my sim locks.

Can anyone tell me what the default code is, and how I would recover the sim if I do get locked out following a third attempt.

Hi @pewe

Thank you for getting in touch with us, kindly not that the default PIN for all iD Mobile SIMs is 0000. However, to keep your account secure, we recommend changing this to a unique code that only you know. If you try more than 3 times the Sim will locked and you will need a Puk code to unlock it. If your Sim is locked, please send us a private message so that we can provide you with the PUK code.

Thank you,

Zandile

Thank you @Zandile M - 0000 was indeed the correct default sim pin and I have now been able to change the sim pin on both phones.

I had obtained the incorrect pin from this post -

which is probably why the OP was locked out and had to obtain their PUK. Perhaps the post should have a warning on it about the incorrect information to sae others who might find it having the same problem.

Thanks for your response - much appreciated.
