Question

Customer support won't blacklist phone

I recently had my phone stolen. This is a phone I purchased myself, and have been using on the iD Mobile network.

when I contacted support via live chat, I was told that they cannot block the phone as it is not the phone associated to the account.

As far as I am aware, this is not correct. Any network provider can blacklist an IMEI as long as the device was used on the network.

Why is support telling me they cannot blacklist the IMEI?

Hi @User468449

Thank you for getting in touch with us. I am very sorry to hear that your phone has been stolen.

Kindly note that we can blacklist the device if our SIM card was being used in the phone, even if the handset was not purchased through iD Mobile. To allow us to check this for you and assist further, please send us a private message with your account details so that we can review the information on our side.

Once we receive your message, we will be happy to look into this for you.

Thank you,

Zandile
