malware issue

Scammers recently accessed my bank details. Activity spotted by bank, account locked & details reset. However, scammers immediately able to access/ use updated details. Bank fraud team believe it is a malware sim issue and suggest the provider (ID) run a malware test to confirm thinking. Is this possible?

    Hi @Wadge,

I'm sorry to hear this has happened.

iD Mobile isn't able to run malware tests on SIM cards or devices, and SIM cards themselves don't generally contain malware in the way phones, apps, or computers can.

If your bank's fraud team believes a device may be compromised, we'd recommend:

    • Running a security scan using a reputable antivirus or security app.
    • Checking for any unfamiliar apps installed on the device.
    • Ensuring your phone's operating system is fully up to date.
    • Changing passwords for important accounts from a trusted device.
    • Contacting the device manufacturer for further security guidance if needed.

Unfortunately, this isn't something that iD Mobile can test or confirm from our side.

    Regards,
