My phones screen is broken and has been refused

My phone screen has a green line. I sent it through Currys to be repaired. I waited a week. Received a message that the phone is fixed and it was on the way back to Currys. I waited to hear when it was delivered, as it said in the text. I waited 2.5 weeks in total. Never received the message. I went into Currys. The phone isn't fixed. Hasnt been looked at. The fault was "beyond repair" becuase of a 2mm surface level screen scratch. I want to have this looked at again and fixed. This is an insurance scam to not deal with a manafcruring fault by throwing any possible fault of mine at it. The tech I spoke to and initially had it looked at said it is in perfect order. The photos are 200x zoom and editted. The scratch is less than 2mm long and less than 0.01mm deep. This is unacceptable.

Hi @Mjhamill,

Thank you for sharing what’s happened, and I’m really sorry for the frustration this has caused.

I completely understand why you’re unhappy with how this has been handled. However, Currys carry out the physical inspection and repair assessment on the handset, and we don’t have access to their diagnostic findings or the ability to overturn their repair decisions, as we don’t provide repairs directly.

Because of this, the next steps would be:

  • Go back to Currys and ask for the case to be reviewed or escalated, including a full breakdown of their findings and the images used in their assessment
  • If you feel their decision is incorrect, you can also raise a formal complaint with Currys’ repairs team
  • Alternatively, if your device is still under manufacturer warranty, you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly for an independent assessment

I’m sorry again for the inconvenience this has caused.

Regards,
