SIM card swap scam

I’ve been called repeatedly by 01217900432 explaining I needed to have a new sim card delivered. They then went on to send me a verification code to my email address and asked me to let them know what the code was. However in the email it specifically states that “ Remember, DO NOT share this code, and we'll never request this number from you over the phone.”

So I told them that I wouldn’t be sharing the code and hung up. They then called back and told me that if I didn’t my sim card would be blocked!

I hung up again but thought it important to let others know to be vigilant.

You did the right thing by refusing to share the verification code. As stated in the email, these codes should never be shared with anyone over the phone, and iD Mobile would not ask you to provide them in this manner.
