i have kept my number from last provider why is a different number coming up when i send a message to someone on their phone.

I have kept my old number from my last provider so why is a different number coming up when I send a message or call someone on their phone?

I’m really sorry you’re experiencing this I can appreciate how confusing it is when you believe you’ve kept your old number, but a different one is still showing when you call or text.

No, i'm still having this issue. I've done what was recommended but still not sorted. Trying to speak to an actual human seems impossible with ID mobile. I'm to regret switching to them

Hi @Kayleigh1209,

Please could you try the below depending on the type of phone you have?

For Android:

Open Settings
Tap General Management
Tap Reset
Select Reset network settings
For iPhone:

Go to Settings
Tap Phone
Tap My Number
Delete the old number
Enter the new/current number
Tap Save
Then follow these steps to refresh iMessage:

Go to Settings
Tap Messages
Turn iMessage OFF
Go to Settings > General
Tap Reset
Choose Reset Network Settings
Once your iPhone restarts, go back to Settings
Tap Messages
Turn iMessage ON again
Your iPhone should now recognise the SIM and verify your number to get it working again.
