Hi @Hud,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Could you let us know a little more about what you mean?

If you're referring to WiFi Calling, this can be used anywhere you have a compatible device and a WiFi connection—it isn't limited to the London Underground.

If you're referring to WiFi hotspots, iD Mobile doesn't provide its own public WiFi network, so you'll need to connect to an available WiFi network where one is offered.

Let us know which service you mean, and we'll be happy to help further.

Regards,

Thanks for answering. I was a bit puzzled that my previous pixel phone connected to wifi happily over the id mobile network but my new iPhone is unable to connect except via normal WiFi or hot-spot connections. Has the move to Three removed this option?

Because I am unable to use any normal WiFi connections I have pinched my wife's iPhone which does connect over mobile using UW and so I can temporary hot-spot on her phone.

Just wondered why I'd has stopped supporting this as it is unusable for me going forward

Hi @Hud

Thank you for reaching out.

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with Wi-Fi Calling on your new iPhone, and we understand how frustrating this must be, especially if it was working correctly on your previous handset.

The move to the Three network has not removed support for Wi-Fi Calling. If the feature was previously working, it's possible that the issue is related to the handset settings.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart your iPhone.
  • Ensure iOS is fully up to date.
  • Check that Wi-Fi Calling is enabled:
    • Settings > Apps > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling > Turn Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone on.
  • Toggle Wi-Fi Calling off for 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
  • Reset your network settings:
    • Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  • If possible, insert your iD Mobile SIM into another compatible handset to see whether Wi-Fi Calling works there. This will help determine whether the issue is related to the handset or the SIM/account.

If the issue persists after completing the above steps, please contact us via Live Chat or send us a direct message through one of our social media platforms, and we'll be happy to investigate further.

Nothing to do with wifi calling it's all about internet access using the id mobile network, I get so many conflicting answers. When out of reach of any wifi networks can my iPhone access the internet using the id mobile network. My wife's iPhone does it ok and using my my old pixel phone did it fine on o2. Is it not possible on the current id/Three network?

Hi @Hud,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The move to Three shouldn't have caused any issues with your phone's ability to use Wi-Fi.

Just to confirm, is your wife also with iD Mobile? This will help us narrow down whether the issue is account-specific or device-specific.

In the meantime, we'd recommend trying a network settings reset.

For iPhone:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap General.
  • Select Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  • Tap Reset.
  • Choose Reset Network Settings.

If this does not work, we’d recommend getting in touch with our customer service team via live chat so that they can log a technical ticket for you.

Regards,
