Hello, I have my new sim, my number has been transferred. I cannot use the data when I am away from WiFi. I have gone into my mobile data and it’s displaying the telephone number given by ID mobile but as I moved my old number over i guess I need to change it, but it will not save

    Hi @H4L3Y,

We are sorry to hear that you are unable to use your data.

Thank you for the information regarding your number not showing correctly and that the temporary iD Mobile number is appearing within your phone's settings.

Depending on the make and model of your phone, the steps to update the number displayed may vary. In many cases, the number shown within the device settings is stored locally on the SIM/eSIM and may not automatically update when your number transfer completes. This does not necessarily mean that your transfer has not been successful.

Please try the relevant steps below for your device:

    For iPhone:

Your iMessage settings will not automatically update during the porting process, so the temporary iD Mobile number may still appear on the device.

To input your ported number into your iPhone:

    1.Go to Settings
    2.Tap Messages
    3.Ensure iMessage is turned ON
    4.Tap Send & Receive
5.Replace the temporary number with your ported number (where available)
    6.Save the changes

Toggle iMessage OFF, wait 3 to 4 minutes, then turn it back ON and restart the device.

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

Under "You can receive iMessages to and reply from", please check if your correct number is displayed.
Also check under "Start New Conversations From" and ensure your ported number is selected.

    For Android devices:

Check the number stored on the device:
Go to Settings > About Phone (or About Device) > Status > My Phone Number
Some devices may show SIM Status or SIM Card Status instead.

    For the Messages app:

    1.Open Messages
    2.Tap More (three dots)
    3.Select Settings
    4.Select Advanced
    6.Select Phone Number
7.Update the number to your ported mobile number
    8.Tap OK to save

    If the issue remains:

    Remove the SIM card
    Restart the device
    Reinsert the SIM card
Check whether the correct number is now displayed

In addition, please test whether you can make and receive calls, send and receive texts, and use mobile data. If these services are working correctly on your ported number, it may simply be a display issue within the device settings rather than an issue with the transfer itself.

Should the issue continue after completing the above steps, please let us know the make and model of your phone and whether you are using a physical SIM or eSIM so we can provide further guidance.

    Regards,
