Not letting me keep my old phone number

when i try and change my phone number back to my old one it comes up with this message “Hi CATRIN ANN, we've encountered an issue processing your PAC request. This could be due to required maintenance or an unexpected system issue. Please try again later. We apologise for any inconvenience - iD Mobile”. But i want to keep my old phone number
