text showing wrong number

My old number transferred for calls and texts to some people. But texts to some are showing as the temporary number. I have tried your standard advice on checking number on the phone, restarted, taken out the sim and restarted. Also tried it in another phone, where it sent correctly.

Still showing the wrong number when sent to my husbands phone!

Thank you for sharing. I’m sorry that some of your texts are still showing the temporary number. Thank you for letting us know what you’ve already tried.

Please try a network reset on your device, as this can help your phone recognise your transferred number.

Android

Open Settings, then tap General management.
Tap Reset, then tap Reset network settings.

iPhone

Go to Settings, then Messages, and turn off iMessage.
Go to Settings, then General, then Reset, and tap Reset Network Settings.
Once the iPhone has restarted, go to Settings, then Messages, and turn iMessage back on. This will recognise the SIM and have it verified.

Please let us know how you get on, and if the wrong number is still showing.
