Question

Voicemail name not being accepted

Every time I try to set up my voicemail, after giving my name in response to the first prompt, the auto voice says “that name hasn’t been accepted”. After several attempts, it just says “there seems to be a problem, goodbye”! I did manage to set up a pin on an earlier attempt, but not the message. I don’t know if that has something to do with it? Any advice about how to get this sorted please?

    Hi @amil,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble setting up your voicemail.

As you've managed to set up a PIN but the issue occurs when recording your name, please try the following:

    1. Call 123 and go through the voicemail setup again.
    2. Try recording a shorter name or greeting, speaking clearly and at a normal pace.
    3. Make sure you're in an area with a good signal when recording the greeting.
    4. Restart your phone and try again.
    5. Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off before retrying.
    6. If possible, try setting up the voicemail greeting from a different location to rule out any signal issues.

If you're still receiving the message "that name hasn't been accepted" or "there seems to be a problem, goodbye", please contact our Live Chat team so they can check whether there's an issue with the voicemail service on your account.
