You don’t need to cancel your EE contract (if you do you will lose the number) just request a PAC code from them. As long as your over the minimum term with them you will not incur any additional charges. You can then order a new iD contract which will come with a temporary number. Give iD the PAC code and your old EE number will transfer over. You can have as many iD contracts in your name subject to your credit score.

I thanks for the advice. I want to cancel my EE Contract, as don't want to be running 2 contracts.  So I call EE, ask for  PUK code.

If I order contract online at ID then there will be an option to keep my number, i.e. enter PUK Code. Would this option be when I set phone up.

How do I give ID the PAC code. 

It’s a PAC code you request not a PUK code. You can text PAC to 65075 to get it from your EE phone. This is valid for 30 days. You should be able to input the PAC when you place your order for your new iD contract. When your number transfers over it will cancel the EE contract automatically so please don’t cancel it yourself otherwise you will lose the number. You may have a small overlap in billing but only a few days at the most.

If the new iPhone is network unlocked, then just pop your ‘old’ SIM card into the new phone, ​@Avfc1874.  

You will be sent a new SIM card when you order the iD contract. Your old SIM card will be disconnected when the number ports over from EE to iD. You can put the EE SIM card in the new phone should you wish until this happens. 

Ok it will be a Samsung A56 I will be looking to order. So J have to use the new sim card, and the EE PAC code will change and keep my old number. Thanks

I have now ordered a Samsung A56 phone. On ordering i chose to change number with PAC, once I received phone and Sim, and not immediately, as still need to use my old phone until.I have new phone sim.
