A SIM PIN adds an extra layer of security to your phone. It stops anyone else from using your SIM or eSIM to make calls or use data if they get their hands on your device.

What is the default SIM PIN?

The default PIN for all iD Mobile SIMs is 0000.

To keep your account secure, we recommend changing this to a unique code that only you know.

Please note: Be careful when entering your PIN. If you enter it incorrectly 3 times, your SIM will be blocked and you’ll need a PUK code to unlock it.

How to set up a SIM PIN.

I’m using an iPhone:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Mobile Service (or Mobile Data).
  3. Tap SIM PIN.
  4. Switch the toggle to ON.
  5. Enter the default PIN (0000) and tap Done.
  6. Tap Change PIN to set your own unique code.

I’m using a Samsung Galaxy:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Biometrics and security (or Security and privacy on newer models).
  3. Tap Other security settings.
  4. Tap Set up SIM card lock.
  5. Switch the toggle to ON.
  6. Enter the default PIN (0000) and tap OK.
  7. Tap Change SIM card PIN to set your own unique code.

Most other Android phones:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Security.
  3. Tap Advanced (if available) then SIM card lock.
  4. Switch the toggle to ON.
  5. Enter the default PIN (0000).
  6. Follow the prompts to change the PIN to your own unique code.
